Friends Chorale

“A group of friends that come together in unity to transform a nation through song.”


Established on January 8, 2010. By Montrae Tisdale as the founder and leader. The group hosted their first inaugural concert as a group in April 2010. The group of friends developed a long lasting remarkable friendship, relationship, partnership, and journey as friends in music ministry.

Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale gained local and national exposure by being featured and highlighted in Verizon How Sweet the Sound Choir competition, later performing at Bishop Hezekiah Walkers “ChoirFest.” April 2013 Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale released their inaugural project entitled “I’m Alive” featuring Multi Stellar Award Winner Jonathan Nelson featuring on their first album and title track “We Reverence You.” Montrae Tisdale also paid tribute to one of his musical icons and mentors Dr. Ricky Dillard by performing and recording a high energetic version of “Search Me Lord.”

The ensemble have been nominated for multiple awards including the Steeple Awards, and Rhythm of Gospel Award Winner for Contemporary Choir of the Year on July 26, 2014.

Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale later recorded their sophomore album entitled “Bishop Larry D. Trotter presents Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale.” Where the group made their first debut on national Billboard and hit the top #31 on the National Digital Sales Chart, first time Stellar nomination.

Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale went on to record and release a single in November 2019 called “Help Me Lift Jesus” featuring Stellar Award winner and powerhouse lead singer Beverly Crawford, where the song was penned by maestro Vincent Bohanan. “Help Me Lift Jesus” gained world radio airplay and pushed the voice and name of Montrae Tisdale and Friends to higher heights. In November 2020 Montrae Tisdale and Friends Chorale released another single and music video “Keep Holding On” featuring Roosevelt Harris with a music video taped on the renowned legendary Tisdale landmarks, and historic sites.

Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale third project entitled “The Good Friday Experience: Take II” gained them overwhelming exposure and made a national mark on the world. The group received their first Grammy Award consideration and well over 500k streams. The record features Kim Burrell, Zacardi Cortez, Bishop Larry Trotter, Tammy Moore of the Truthettes, Donishisa Ballard, and C. Ashley Brown.
