Montrae Tisdale- Johnson is the son of Monette Johnson and Larry Tisdale. Born on June 16, 1991 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The oldest sibling of six. Montrae started at a early age developing his passion and hunger to want to serve God. At the early age of 8 years old he was baptized at the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. A. Glenn Woodberry. Where he served as a Junior deacon, and directed faithfully in the Junior mass choir, and later the Young Adult Mass choir. Montrae’s grandmother Cheryl Tisdale- Pickett who raised him in the church noticed at an early age that Montrae was a very unique and different child, who wouldn’t desire to be in the nursery or children’s church but adult church. He had powerful soul stirring prayers that would captivate the church audience during his third Sunday prayers, and very passionate directing.

Montrae is a proud graduate and alumni of the Star Spencer High School class of 2009. Where he served in many musical capacities, solo competitions, and directed his high school gospel choir called the “Essence of Praise.”
Montrae Tisdale is the founder and leader of the dynasty called “The Friends Chorale.” A group of friends that come together in unity to transform a nation through song.

Montrae Tisdale is the next generation of the world famed family the Tisdale’s. Furthermore the nephew of the late NBA basketball star and jazz recording artist Wayman Tisdale. Although Montrae comes from a renowned family, he has become a staple in gospel and made a remarkable name for himself with his own ministry, life, and gracefully built his own career and choir to represent the kingdom in excellence. Montrae has been noted and called the “nephew of Gospel music,” with endorsements and supporters such as Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Pastor John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Byron Cage just to name a few.

Montrae Tisdale also founded MTJ Ministries Inc and later launched a sister company called Tisdale Nation Entertainment to house all his many large endeavors, dreams, goals, plans and businesses.

Montrae Tisdale is also the radio personality of the #1 ranked syndicated radio show in Oklahoma “The Montrae Tisdale Show” on POWER 103.5 FM radio station owned by Perry Publishing and Broadcasting. Montrae Tisdale was introduced to the industry from his inaugural record  entitled “Im Alive” featuring Jonathan Nelson. Montrae Tisdale and Friends later recorded his sophomore record endorsed and entitled Bishop Larry Trotter presents Montrae Tisdale and The Friends Chorale where he made his first major national debut on Billboard that hit the top #31 on Billboard. His sophomore album featured Lillian Lloyd, Tiffanie TuTu Agee, and Bishop Carlton Pearson just to name a few. Montrae Tisdale and Friends Chorale latest release The Good Friday Experience: Take II album has been his yet best selling record over 500k streams and scored top #11 on Billboard current gospel albums charts featuring Kim Burrell, Bishop Larry Trotter, Zacardi Cortez, Beverly Crawford and more. Montrae Tisdale and Friends Chorale latest radio single “The Key” featuring his auntie the legendary Kim Burrell on lead broke in the top 20 on national gospel radio chart.
